A Lufthansa Airbus A321-200N, registration D-AIEP performing flight LH-1531 from Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain) to Frankfurt/Main (Germany), was on approach to Frankfurt's runway 25L when the aircraft sustained a lightning strike. The aircraft continued for a safe landing and taxied to the apron.

A passenger reported he witnessed a lightning strike on approach to Frankfurt.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Frankfurt about 22 hours after landing.
