A Sunclass Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration OY-TCG performing flight DK-818 from Las Palmas,CI (Spain) to Sal (Cape Verde), had departed La Palma's runway 03R and levelled off at FL300 when the crew reported gear problems and decided to return to Las Palmas. The aircraft entered a hold at 8000 feet. A Spanish F/A-18 Hornet returning from a training mission was dispatched to visually inspect the aircraft, positioned 2000 feet below the A321 and reported, that all gear was up and the gear doors were all closed with no damage visible. The A321 crew continued assessment of the situation and were able to perform a safe landing on Las Palmas' runway 03L about 90 minutes after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 90 minutes, then departed again, reached Sal with a delay of about 3 hours and continued its schedule.
