A Jazz Aviation de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-GGOK performing flight QK-7724 from London,ON to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 24 people on board, landed on Toronto's runway 05 at 20:48L (01:48Z Jan 7th) but while decelerating through 70 knots veered left off the runway onto grass north of the runway between taxiways F and P. An aircraft on final approach to runway 05 had to go around. After about 3 minutes the aircraft was able to turn left onto taxiway P and taxied to the apron.

NAV Canada reported that according to ground radar the aircraft exited the runway at the left side near taxiway P, the flight crew however never communicated the aircraft had left the runway surface. Tower had been reported instead that the crew was unable to vacate the runway at H3 due to a steering problem.

The Canadian TSB reported that after the aircraft came to a stop an exterior inspection revealed no significant damage to the aircraft which was subsequently taxied to the gate. Maintenance replaced the nosewheel steering control unit and the #1 and #3 tyres. The flight data and cockpit voice recorders were acquired for further assessment.
