A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-DLV performing flight FR-2640 from London Stansted,EN (UK) to Dortmund (Germany) with 169 passengers and 6 crew, landed on Dortmund's snow contaminated runway 06 at 15:29L (14:29Z) but overran the end of the runway and came to a stop on the clearway about 45 meters past the runway end. The aircraft subsequently was able to taxi to the apron on its own power.

Germany's BFU reported low visibility procedures (CATII) were in use, the runway was 100% wet and 100% covered with 2mm of wet snow, the RVR at touchdown was 1900 meters, middle 1900 meters and roll out 1700 meters. The aircraft performed a stabilized approach, touched down within the touch down zone, ground spoilers deployed, thrust reversers were activated and wheel brakes were applied. The aircraft overran the end of the runway and came to a stop on the clearway about 45 meters past the runway end. The landing distance available, due to both runway thresholds being displaced, was 1700 meters.
