An AeroUnion Airbus A300-600 freighter on behalf of Avianca Cargo, registration XA-UYR performing flight QT-4171 from Miami,FL (USA) to San Jose (Costa Rica) with 2 crew, landed on San Jose's runway 07 at 08:44L (14:44Z) however struck its tail onto the runway. The aircraft rolled out without further incident.

The airport reported a cargo aircraft had a non-standard landing caused by tailwind conditions. There were no injuries.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in San Jose about 28 hours after landing.
