A Condor Airbus A321-200, registration D-ATCG performing flight DE-1402 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to Las Palmas,CI (Spain), was climbing out of Frankfurt's runway 18 when the crew initiated an emergency descent at about FL220. The aircraft levelled at FL100 and returned to Frankfurt for a safe landing on runway 25L about one hour after departure.

A replacement A330-200 registration D-AIYD reached Las Palmas with a delay of about 2.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 30 hours after landing.
