A United Airbus A320-200, registration N495UA performing flight UA-718 from Mexico City (Mexico) to San Francisco,CA (USA), was climbing out of Mexico City when the crew determined there was an imbalance of fuel pressure between the engines (V2527), stopped the climb at FL290 and returned to Mexico City for a safe landing on runway 05R about 45 minutes after departure.

A replacement A320-200 registration N476UA reached San Francisco with a delay of about 6:15 hours.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 18 hours before returning to service.
