An Airblue Airbus A321-200, registration AP-BMW performing flight PA-430 from Lahore (Pakistan) to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), was enroute at FL340 about 160nm north of Karachi (Pakistan) when the crew requested to descend to FL180 reporting severe left hand engine (CFM56) vibrations. The crew subsequently declared PAN PAN reporting the failure of the left hand engine and diverted to Karachi for a safe landing on runway 25L about 35 minutes later.

On Nov 7th 2022 Pakistan's AIB reported the occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated by the AIB. There were no injuries and no damage to the aircraft.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Karachi 68 days after landing.
