An Aeroflot Airbus A319-100, registration VP-BWA performing flight SU-2496 from Moscow Sheremetyevo (Russia) to Copenhagen (Denmark), was climbing out of Sheremetyevo Airport's runway 25L when the crew stopped the climb at 3000 feet reporting the right hand engine had failed and was shut down. The aircraft returned to Sheremetyevo Airport for a safe landing on runway 25R about 10 minutes after departure.

A replacement Airbus A319-100 registration VP-BZO reached Copenhagen with a delay of 2.5 hours.
