A British Airways Boeing 777-200, registration G-RAES performing flight BA-105 (dep Dec 26th) from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) with 228 passengers and 13 crew, was enroute at FL370 over the Black Sea about 240nm northeast of Istanbul (Turkey), when the crew needed to reduce the right hand engine (GE90) to idle thrust due to oil pressure and reducing oil quantity prompting the crew to suspect an engine oil leak and declare emergency. The aircraft drifted down to FL200 and diverted to Istanbul for a safe landing on runway 23 about 45 minutes later and taxied to the apron without stop, the crew needed to be talked along the taxiways advising they had no taxi charts for Ataturk Airport.

The flight is currently estimated to reach Dubai the following day with a delay of 22 hours.
