A British Airways Boeing 787-9, registration G-ZBKP performing flight BA-243 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Mexico City (Mexico), was enroute at FL340 over the Atlantic Ocean about 410nm south of Keflavik (Iceland) when the crew received indication of low oil pressure for one of the engines (Trent 1000) and shut the engine down. The crew decided to divert to Keflavik, drifted the aircraft down to FL195 and landed safely on Keflavik's runway 01 about 80 minutes later.

A replacement Boeing 787-9 registration G-ZBKD continued the flight the following day and reached Mexico City with a delay of about 24 hours.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Keflavik for about 40 hours, then positioned back to London Heathrow.
