An Air Greenland de Havilland Dash 8-200, registration OY-GRP performing flight GL-1540 from Nuuk to Sondrestrom (Greenland), was climbing out of Nuuk's runway 23 when the crew stopped the climb at 4000 feet due to an engine (PW123) problem and shut the engine down. The aircraft returned to Nuuk for a safe landing on runway 23 about 25 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 24 hours after landing back.
