A Serene Air Boeing 737-800, registration AP-BNB performing flight ER-723 from Lahore (Pakistan) to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) with 186 people on board, was climbing out of Lahore's runway 18R when the crew stopped the climb at about 3500 feet due to a bird strike into the left hand engine (CFM56) and returned to Lahore for a safe landing on runway 36L about 10 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration AP-BNC reached Dubai with a delay of about 7 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Lahore about 13 hours after landing back.
