An Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-700, registration N623AS performing flight AS-504 from Seattle,WA to Santa Ana,CA (USA) with 116 passengers, was enroute at FL390 about 140nm southsoutheast of Portland,OR (USA) when the crew decided to turn around and divert to Portland due to problems with the fuel flow. The aircraft landed safely on Portland's runway 28L about 30 minutes later.

Following repairs the aircraft was able to continue the flight after about 5 hours on the ground and reached Santa Ana with a delay of 5.5 hours.

The airline reported the crew turned around due to a possible issue with the fuel tanks, the aircraft had sufficient fuel to carry on to destination.
