A Lufthansa Airbus A340-300, registration D-AIGU performing flight LH-778 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to Singapore (Singapore), was climbing out of Frankfurt's runway 18 when the crew stopped the climb at FL140 due to problems with the flaps, entered a hold to dump fuel and returned to Frankfurt for a safe landing on runway 25C about 105 minutes after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 17 hours, then departed as flight LH-778D and reached Singapore with a delay of about 20 hours.
