A Nepal Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration 9N-AKX performing flight RA-230 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Kathmandu (Nepal), was climbing through FL290 out of Dubai when the crew observed a low hydraulic fluid indication for the green hydraulic system and decided to return to Dubai. The aircraft burned off fuel and landed safely back on Dubai's runway 30L about 70 minutes after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Dubai for about 4 hours, then was released to perform the flight under minimum equipment list requirements with a green hydraulic system accumulator disabled due to an internal accumulator leaking. The aircraft reached Kathmandu with a delay of about 5 hours and remained on the ground in Kathmandu for about 8 hours before returning to service.
