A Skywest Canadair CRJ-900 on behalf of Delta Airlines, registration N170PQ performing flight DL-4140 from Hartford,CT to Minneapolis,MN (USA), was enroute at FL340 about 40nm north of Saginaw,MI (USA) when the crew received a smoke indication in the cabin and decided to divert to Saginaw for a safe landing on runway 23 about 17 minutes after leaving FL340.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 3 hours, then continued the journey and reached Minneapolis with a delay of 3.5 hours.
