Azimuth SU95 near Rostov on Oct 21st 2021, accidental gear extension enroute causes loss of separation

An Azimuth Airlines Sukhoi Superjet 100-95, registration RA-89120 performing flight A4-543 from Sochi to Bryansk (Russia), was enroute at FL340 about 90nm south of Rostov on Don (Russia) when the crew dealt with repeated messages of lost signal from the satellite navigation system. The captain wanted to cancel the message on FMS and engine and warning display (EWD) the captain mistakenly pressed the alternate gear extension button. The gear extended at 270 KIAS (permitted below 255 KIAS), which caused the autopilot, still engaged, to climb the aircraft by about 450 feet before descending again. The crew requested a descent to FL290 and a diversion to Rostov, where the aircraft landed safely about 35 minutes later.

Rosaviatsia reported another aircraft was enroute at FL350 in opposite direction causing the Short Term Collision Warning to activate at the controller's desk at the SU95 climbed through FL344. The SU95 landed safely and did not receive any damage.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 18 hours before returning to service.
