A KLM Boeing 737-800, registration PH-BXG performing flight KL-1975 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Budapest (Hungary) with 152 people and 2.5kg of Lithium Metal batteries on board, was on approach to Budapest's runway 13R when the crew reported they had flaps problems and could not extend them. The aircraft entered a hold at 8000 feet. After working the checklists the crew declared PAN reporting they could not resolve the problem, needed to perform a flaps up landing at 190 knots and requested runway 13L. The aircraft landed safely on Budapest's runway 13L at a higher than normal speed (177 knots over ground).

The return flight KL-1976 was cancelled.
