A Lufthansa Airbus A321-200N, registration D-AIEF performing flight LH-1554 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to Heraklion (Greece), was on approach to Heraklion's runway 27 when a bird impacted the aircraft's nose. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 27.

The aircraft was unable to perform the return flight. The flight is currently scheduled to depart with a delay of 24 hours.
