A Flyegypt Boeing 737-700, registration SU-TMM performing flight FT-3103 from Hurghada (Egypt) to Cluj (Romania) with 113 people on board, landed on Cluj's runway 25 at 19:12L (16:12Z) when upon touchdown tower immediately observed sparks and flames from the landing gear. The aircraft came to a stop on the runway with all four main tyres burst about 1028 meters/3370 feet past the displaced runway threshold.

The runway needed to be closed until the wheels were replaced and the aircraft had been towed off the runway.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Cluj about 20.5 hours after landing.

On Oct 22nd 2021 Romania's AIAS reported the aircraft experienced a hard landing causing the main tyres to catch fire. The fire was extinguished, the occupants of the aircraft were evacuated, there were no injuries. The AIAS have opened an investigation into the occurrence.

On Dec 14th 2021 the AIAS released their preliminary report in Romanian reporting the captain (ATPL, 8279 hours total, 1973 hours on type) was pilot flying, the first officer (CPL, 784 hours total, 594 hours on type) was pilot monitoring. The flight was normal until touchdown, at which point the tyres immediately burst. The aircraft came to a stop about 1040 meters past the runway threshold after a roll of about 650 meters.

The FDR and CVR have been downloaded and are being analysed.
