A GOL Transportes Aereos Boeing 737-800, registration PR-GUF performing flight G3-1011 from Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont,RJ to Sao Paulo Congonhas,SP (Brazil) with 120 passengers and 6 crew, was departing runway 20L when the tail of the aircraft contacted the runway surface. The crew continued takeoff, initially climbed to FL120, later FL220 and continued to Sao Paulo Congonhas for a safe landing about 55 minutes after departure.

Brazil's CENIPA reported the aircraft sustained no damage, the occurrence was rated an incident.
