An Azul Linhas Aereas Embraer ERJ-195-E2, registration PR-PJN performing flight AD-2860 from Sao Paulo Viracopos,SP to Caxias do Sul,RS (Brazil) with 135 passengers and 5 crew, landed on Caxias do Sul's runway 33 at 14:00L (17:00Z) but struck its tail onto the runway surface. The aircraft rolled out without further incident.
The aircraft was unable to continue its schedule and remained on the ground until Aug 13th 2021, then positioned to Sao Paulo Viracopos as flight AD-9802 climbing to a maximum FL090.
On Aug 13th 2021 Brazil's CENIPA confirmed the occurrence stating there were no injuries. After the tail strike the aircraft taxied to the apron where the passengers disembarked normally. CENIPA did not open an investigation.
