A Wizzair Airbus A321-200, registration HA-LXJ performing flight W6-2857 from Vienna (Austria) to Keflavik (Iceland), was climbing out of Vienna's runway 29 when the aircraft did not retract the landing gear. The crew levelled off at 5000 feet and entered a hold for about one hour, then returned to Vienna for a safe landing on runway 29 about 80 minutes after departure.

A replacement A321-200N registration HA-LVT reached Keflavik with a delay of 9 hours.

Ground observers reported the aircraft climbed out without retracting the landing gear and entered a hold with the gear extended before returning to Vienna.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Vienna about 14 hours after landing back.
