An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N877NN performing flight AA-1487 from New York JFK,NY to Phoenix,AZ (USA), was enroute at FL340 over Columbus,OH (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Chicago due to an open ground power service door. The crew declared emergency advising they needed to do an overweight landing at Chicago, descended the aircraft to 10,000 feet and landed safely on O'Hare's runway 28C about 55 minutes after leaving FL340.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 100 minutes, then departed again and reached Phoenix with a delay of about 2 hours.
