A Condor Boeing 757-300, registration D-ABOM performing flight DE-4667 from Funchal (Portugal) to Munich (Germany) with 264 people on board, was enroute over the Atlantic Ocean southwest of Lisbon (Portugal) when the crew needed to shut the left hand engine (RB211) down due to a failure. The aircraft drifted down and diverted to Lisbon for a safe landing on runway 03 about 90 minutes after departure from Funchal.
