The flight was cancelled. The passengers were rebooked onto the next flight about 2.5 hours later.

A passenger reported there was a loud bang from the right hand side, the crew confirmed the bang came from the right hand engine and shut the engine down.

On Apr 6th 2021 the airline stated: "We confirm that the engine, the subject matter of the alleged incident, was not shut down in flight. The aircraft mentioned had a technical problem, related to a water drain valve of the galley, which was stuck in the open position. This caused noise and vibration during the climb out of Barcelona. The crew decided correctly to return to Barcelona, as a matter of precaution. Furthermore, the aircraft was subsequently cleared back into service on Friday evening 2 April at 23:40."

The occurrence aircraft returned to service on Apr 4th 2021 about 60 hours after landing back.
