A Corendon Airlines Boeing 737-800 on behalf of Iraqi Airways, registration TC-TJI performing flight IA-224 from Istanbul Ataturk (Turkey) to Baghdad (Iraq), was climbing out of Ataturk Airport's runway 35R when the crew reported the nose gear did not indicate fully retracted, stopped the climb at 8000 feet, burned off fuel and returned to Ataturk Airport for a safe landing about 110 minutes after departure.

The aircraft was able to depart again after 80 minutes on the ground and reached Baghdad with a delay of about 3.5 hours.
