The aircraft had suffered the same problem about 11.5 hours earler, see Incident: Cargolux B748 at Novosibirsk on Dec 3rd 2020, gear problem on departure.
On Dec 4th 2020 Westsiberia's Transport Investigation Department reported a sensor indicated the right main gear could not be retracted, the same problem had occurred the previous day, therefore the department dispatched an investigation team on site to check the circumstances of the occurrences and establish whether violations of safety regulations have occurred.
