A Shuttle America Embraer ERJ-175 on behalf of Delta Airlines, registration N210JQ performing flight S5-5875/DL-5875 from Boston,MA to New York La Guardia,NY (USA) with 25 passengers and 4 crew, departed Boston's runway 04L when the crew upon contacting departure at 1500 feet requested to return to the airfield reporting they had a bird strike upon takeoff resulting in a nose gear door remaining open. The aircraft stopped the climb at 6000 feet and returned to Boston for a safe landing on runway 04L about 20 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled.

The FAA reported the aircraft received minor damage as result of the bird strike.
