A PIA Pakistan International Airlines Avion de Transport Regional ATR-42-500, registraiton AP-BHI performing flight PK-588 from Karachi to Bahawalpur (Pakistan) with 45 passengers, was enroute near Nawabshah (Pakistan) when the crew decided to divert to Nawabshah due to a problem with an engine. The aircraft landed safely.

The incident aircraft was able to continue the flight and reached Bahawalpur with a delay of about 7.5 hours and performed the return flight PK-589 reaching Karachi with a delay of 7:10 hours.
