A Guanghui Group Embraer ERJ-190, registration B-3203 performing a flight from Hong Kong (China) to Sapporo (Japan) with 29 people on board, was on approach to one of New Chitose Airport's runways 36 or 01 when a series of generator malfunctions of both left and right hand engines (CF34) caused the loss of all displays in the cockpit. The crew managed a safe landing nonetheless.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Sapporo at least for the rest of 2019.

Japan's TSB rated the occurrence a serious incident and opened an investigation. The US NTSB joined the investigation representing the state of manufacture of the integtrated drive generators (IDG).
