The FAA reported the aircraft sustained unknown damage when it struck a bird at Des Moines,IA in an unknown flight phase.
A replacement CRJ-900 registration N135EV performed the return flight, still DL-5484, to Minneapolis with a delay of 3:40 hours.
The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 22 hours after landing.
