A Mango Boeing 737-800, registration ZS-SJC performing flight JE-152 from Cape Town to Johannesburg (South Africa), was climbing through about 9000 feet MSL out of Cape Town when a panel of the left hand wing to body fairing dropped off the aircraft and fell into Cape Town's surbub Kayamandi (Stellenbosch) about 12nm east of Cape Town, nobody was injured. The aircraft continued the flight to Johannesburg for a landing without further incident.

A local resident was seen carrying the panel away.

The airline confirmed: "Mango can confirm that a panel, a side wing to body fairing, did detach from the body of one of our aircraft." They did not pay anything for getting the panel back. Mango is investigating the occurrence and have submitted a report to the SACAA (Civil Aviation Authority of South Africa).

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 24 hours after landing in Johannesburg.
