A Jet2.com Boeing 737-800, registration G-JZHK performing flight LS-1663 from London Stansted,EN (UK) to Tenerife South,CI (Spain), was climbing through FL140 out of Stansted's runway 22 when the passenger oxygen masks dropped. The crew performed a rapid descent to FL080, burned off fuel and returned to Stansted for a safe landing on runway 22 about 80 minutes after departure.

A passenger reported around 15 minutes after departure the oxygen masks suddenly dropped, the captain announced there was a pressurization problem. Cabin crew wore oxygen bottles for a while, which was a bit scary, the crew however was very reassuring and did a fantastic job to keep the passengers calm. After landing they were on a replacement aircraft to Tenerife after about 3 hours.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration G-DRTO reached Tenerife with a delay of 4 hours.
