A Qantas Airbus A330-200, registration VH-EBB performing flight QF-642 from Perth,WA to Sydney,NS (Australia) with 224 people on board, was in the initial climb out of Perth's runway 06 when the crew received indication of a hydraulic failure, which prevented the gear retraction. The aircraft stopped the climb at 5000 feet and landed safely back on Perth's runway 03 about 50 minutes after departure.

Passengers reported the gear didn't retract.

The airline reported the aircraft suffered a hydraulic problem which prevented the gear retraction.
