The aircraft landed safely in Port of Spain about 30 minutes later.

The aircraft continued the flight after about 6 hours on the ground, made another stop in San Juan (Puerto Rico) for a crew change and reached Atlanta with a delay of about 11 hours.

Several passengers reported independently the captain announced a generator had failed prompting them to divert to Port of Spain. Authorities did not permit the passengers to disembark, who remained on board for the entire 6 hours until the generator had been fixed. Due to crew duty time limitations the aircraft needed to to land in Puerto Rico where customs and immigration to the USA were done. A new crew then continued the flight to Atlanta.
