An Iraqi Airways Airbus A321-200, registration YI-AGR performing flight IA-271 from Baghdad (Iraq) to Minsk National (Belarus), was enroute at FL340 about 80nm south of Rostov on Don (Russia) when the crew reported the failure of the autopilot and descended the aircraft to FL280 out of RVSM airspace. The crew subsequently decided to divert to Rostov where the aircraft landed safely about 35 minutes after leaving FL340.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 6 hours, then continued the flight and reached Minsk with a delay of 6 hours.
