A United Boeing 737-800, registration N37281 performing flight UA-137 from Guam (Guam) to Nagoya (Japan) with 106 people on board, was on final approach to Nagoya's runway 36 when the crew received abnormal indications for the flaps and went around. The aircraft climbed to 5000 feet while working the checklists. The aircraft landed safely on runway 36 at a normal speed about 15 minutes later.

The aircraft was able to depart for the return flight with a delay of one hour and reached Guam with 45 minutes delay.
