An Eurowings Europe Airbus A320-200, registration OE-IQA performing flight EW-6829 from Bremen (Germany) to Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain), was departing Bremen's runway 27 when during rotation an engine ingested a number of birds. The crew continued the climb to 3000 feet, then shut the engine down due to severe vibrations. The crew requested to divert to Hanover (Germany), climbed the aircraft to 6000 feet and landed safely on Hanover's runway 09L about 45 minutes after departure.

A replacement Airbus A319-100 registration OE-LYU reached Palma Mallorca with a delay of about 6 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Hanover about 10.5 hours after landing.
