An Austrian Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration OE-LBE performing flight OS-835 from Vienna (Austria) to Larnaca (Cyprus), was climbing out of Vienna's runway 29 when the crew stopped the climb at FL160 due to indications of hydraulic problems. The aircraft entered a hold at FL110, burned off fuel and returned to Vienna for a safe landing on runway 16 about 2 hours after departure.

The airline confirmed the aircraft returned to Vienna due to an indication suggesting a problem with the hydraulics. The aircraft burned off fuel and returned to Vienna. The flight was postponed to the following day.

A replacement A321-100 registration OE-LBA reached Larnaca the following day with a delay of 15.5 hours.
