A Sunstate Airlines de Havilland Dash 8-400 on behalf of Qantas, registration VH-QOI performing flight QF-1420 from Canberra,AC to Sydney,NS (Australia), was climbing out of Canberra's runway 35 when the crew stopped the climb at about 7500 feet due to damage to the inboard left main tyre. The aircraft returned to Canberra for a safe landing on runway 35 about 25 minutes after departure.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Canberra about 88 hours after landing.
