An Air India Express Boeing 737-800, registration VT-AXM performing flight IX-382 from Dammam (Saudi Arabia) to Kohzikode (India) with 180 people on board, landed on Kozhikode's runway 28 at about 09:17L (03:47Z), however, the tail contacted the runway surface. The aircraft rolled out without further incident and taxied to the apron. There were no injuries.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 6.5 hours, then returned to service.
