An Ural Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration VQ-BFW performing flight U6-226 from St. Petersburg to Yekaterinburg (Russia), was climbing out of St. Petersburg's runway 10L when a loud nerve-wracking whistle occurred. The crew stopped the climb at FL070 and returned to St. Petersburg for a safe landing on runway 10R about 25 minutes after departure.

Passengers reported immediately after takeoff a loud whistling noise occurred. The crew later announced that the gear had not completely retracted. The aircraft returned and landed smoothly.

The airline reported the aircraft returned due to "hibernating sensor".

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 11 hours after landing.
