Germany's BFU reported in their March Bulletin that winds were gusting up to 35 knots when the aircraft landed with its left wing tip contacting the runway surface. The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated.
The airline reported EI-DWJ received minor damage to its leading edge slat, flap fairing and winglet. The FDR was returned to the maufacturer for read out and analysis while the investigation is ongoing. The aircraft returned to service following BFU examination and maintenance rectification.
The occurrence aircraft returned to service on Mar 13th 2019.
