A Lufthansa Airbus A350-900, registration D-AIXD performing flight LH-480 from Munich (Germany) to Denver,CO (USA), was enroute at FL360 about 250nm northwest of Shannon (Ireland) about to enter the Oceanic Crossing across the Atlantic Ocean when the crew decided to return to Munich advising of a problem with the speed indications. The aircraft landed safely on Munich's runway 26R about 3 hours after the decision to return.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Munich about 29 hours after landing.
