A KLM Cityhopper Embraer ERJ-190, registration PH-EXV performing flight KL-1733 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Brussels (Belgium), was climbing out of Amsterdam's runway 24 when the crew requested to stop the climb at FL090 reporting they had a bird strike on their nose and wanted to consult with dispatch whether to continue to Brussels or return to Amsterdam. Departure indicated nothing was found on the runway, the crew replied they were sure, they had a lot of blood on the windscreen. The crew subsequently returned to Amsterdam for a safe landing on runway 27 about 20 minutes after departure.

A replacement ERJ-190 registration PH-EXB reached Brussels with a delay of 90 minutes.
