An Aeroflot Sukhoi Superjet 100-95, registration RA-89041 performing flight SU-2101 from Riga (Latvia) to Moscow Sheremetyevo (Russia), departed Riga's runway 18, maintained routine communication until climbing above FL270 and was climbing through FL315 out of Riga when the crew initiated an emergency descent to FL100 being level at FL100 about 7 minutes after stopping the climb due to the loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft returned to Riga for a safe landing on runway 18 about one hour after departure.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Riga about 9 hours after landing.

Latvia's Civil Aviation Authority reported the aircraft returned to Riga due to a loss of cabin pressure.

The airline reported the aircraft returned to Riga as result of a bird strike.
