A Sunwing Boeing 737-800, registration G-FDZA performing flight WG-692 from Quebec,QC (Canada) to Varadero (Cuba), was enroute at FL360 about 30nm northwest of Fort Lauderdale,FL (USA) when the crew decided to divert to Fort Lauderdale due to cardiac condition of a male passenger (49). The aircraft landed safely on Fort Lauderdale's runway 27R about 17 minutes later. Waiting medical services took the passenger, who appeared responsive at that time, to a hospital. Passengers reported that a defibrillator had been prepared for first aid to the patient, they didn't know however whether it had been used.
