The airline confirmed the aircraft diverted to Honolulu after one of the four pilots on board fell ill. The passengers were provided with meal vouchers while waiting for a replacement crew to continue the flight.
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 7.5 hours, then departed again and reached Auckland with a delay of 8.5 hours.
